1. Requirement for MBA
Like every university has its requirement to apply for graduate programs, Harvard Business School has some basic requirements to get admission to MBA.
4-year Undergraduate Degree: You need a bachelor’s degree from any recognized university in the world to apply for an MBA at Harvard University. Bachelor’s degree must be for four years. But Harvard also accepts the application from a 3-years bachelor’s degree from the United Kingdom.
English Language Test: All those whose language of instruction in a bachelor’s degree was not English must have to take TOFEL, IELTS, or PTE test. And submit the score to HBS. In addition to that, HBS does not have any minimum test score to apply for MBA. But MBA Admission Board discourages applicants with a score lower than 7.5 bands in IELTS, 109 scores in TOFEL, or 75 scores in the PTE test.
GMAT or GRE Test: Everyone must have to submit the GMAT or GRE score in the application form. There is no minimum marks requirement at Harvard Business School because they accept applications from a wide range of applicants.
2. Written Application
Candidate must apply online on the Harvard Business School website to get admission and HBS required some documents to access the qualifications of the applicant. All material that is given below must be uploaded on the application portal before the deadline. The following are some important documents which applicant must-have in the scanned form:
Transcripts: Applicants must upload their transcripts on the application portal. According to the HBS website, MBA Admission Board is not only considering the GPA or Marks but they are looking at it as a whole. They do consider from where you got your education and degrees you earned. GPA is just one of the factors and there is no minimum GPA requirement to apply for the MBA program.
English Language Test: It has been discussed earlier
Essay: You have to write an essay in which you should tell the committee what to consider your candidacy for the MBA program. There is no word limit and the HBS website mentions that you don’t have to overthink it. Just tell them about your world in clear language.
GMAT or GRE: This section was also discussed earlier.
Recommendation Letters: You need to provide two recommendations from your professor or any supervisor under whom you have worked. They will comment on your personal qualities, skills. They have to score you at the skill grid and provide a descriptive answer to two questions. In one question, your recommender has to compare your personal qualities, potential, and performance with a well-qualified individual in the same role. Another question is related to the feedback your recommender gave to you and what was your response.
Resume: You have to submit an updated CV online, which should be in standard business format. The CV must provide your past education and job experience in a well-summarized form.

Harvard Business School is open about your application. They don’t have any stringent requirement which you must fulfill to get admission. But they are open to offering admission to anyone who can convince them with their education and background that you need this program the most.
